At Southport Heights our teens (6th-12th grade) are invited to participate in their own environment where they can be themselves. They can be fun. They can be safe. They can be true... but real truth takes growth and we want to help with that.
This environment is called CURRENT and it's on Sunday mornings at 10:30. Our space is called the LOBBY but it's not in the front of the building. We're way back, upstairs behind the kids areas tucked away in our own world. CURRENT is a great time to hang out and get to know other teens while learning more about who Jesus is, and how that matters to us. During our time in CURRENT we bounce back and forth between the LOBBY and the PURPLE ROOM, playing games, watching lesson videos and talking. Josiah is usually the leader and he loves hanging out with students and getting to know them.
Your First Visit
Here’s what to expect when visiting us for the first time:
First, feel free to follow the signs or ask one of our volunteers about the teen area and someone will take you where you need to go. There you (or your parent) can fill out a family info form so we can set you up to check in on your own next time you come. The family info form will ask for the following information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will use this information for church purposes only):
-Parent/guardian name(s)
-Family contact info
-child’s name
-child’s birthdate, gender and grade
-any special instructions (allergies, special needs)
Once that form is filled out and a visitor name tag is given, one of our volunteers will take you upstairs to the LOBBY.
